What is Blog Nosh Magazine?
Blog Nosh Magazine is an online magazine dedicated to promoting the best archived posts from our own personal blogs.
You know those really great posts you wrote before anyone was reading your blog? The ones you try to pimp out in your sidebar’s “Dear God, Please Read These Before You Judge Me for Writing About My Allergies 4 Days in a Row!” section? Yeah, those.
If it has fallen off of your front page (”archived”) and you love it, then we will be noshing on it!
Blog Nosh Magazine is different from those blogs who choose weekly or monthly round-ups of great posts in that we republish the full post, not just the headline or title. We feel this greatly increases your chance of building your audience, as they have an opportunity to sample or “nosh on” your writing before clicking through.
A print publication of Blog Nosh Magazine is in the works. Our print version will be published quarterly or semiannually and feature the most engaging online content that deserves a spot in your “real life,” on your coffee table, in your briefcase, or in your bookshelf. As much as we love noshing online, nothing quite beats the tactile rewards of the printed word.
And what blogger doesn’t secretly (or not so secretly) want to be published?
“Noshing”: Yiddish for indulging in a snack or light meal. Commonly heard today in British slang.
The goals of Blog Nosh Magazine are to:
- encourage readers to consider content from genres they would otherwise not seek out on their own, done largely by juxtaposing posts in seemingly dichotomous genres side-by-side in our daily features (for instance, we recently published a post about finding the right church next to a post about gay marriage, resulting in emails of the “Thank you, I never would have read that blog…” variety)
- encourage bloggers to not farm out previously unpublished original content to larger sites in direct detriment to the quality and quantity of their own personal blog (this is why we do not accept previously unpublished submissions)
- foster the understanding that personal blogs are not all fluff but actually do churn out magazine-quality content on a daily basis, largely for the art of writing and conviction (when you don’t have to answer to The Man, you are more likely to let your freak flag fly: aka your true colors fearlessly, or at the very least less fearfully, show)

Republication of your archived posts on Blog Nosh Magazine is simple:
Once you have consented to allow your post to be republished in full on Blog Nosh Magazine, either having been contacted by one of our Channel Editors or having contacted us directly yourself, one of our editors will copy and paste your content into a new dedicated post on our site.
Your post will be tagged by channel, topic, and by your blog’s title so as to be easily categorized for future browsers of our magazine.
Should Blog Nosh Magazine be contacted by any media outlet, interviewer, or other third party regarding your post, we will direct them to you for questions. Period.
Each post will include links back to your blog and original blog post, as well as a button for readers to directly subscribe to your blog, even if they don’t actually click through to it directly.
We are in the business of building your audience.
You retain all copyright.
We simply publish your post(s) in another venue for a new set of readers to discover. The post is still yours, our role is to help you share it.
Why can’t I write original content directly for Blog Nosh? Why does my post need to have fallen off of my front page first?
We believe that your best content, your best ideas, should be delivered first to your personal blog and the audience that you have built whenever possible. So many bloggers write an outstanding post and then fear that publishing it on their personal blog will be a “waste,” when they could submit it to a larger group blog and possibly gain more attention for it.
We understand this inclination, but we say that your personal blog deserves better! The platform of personal blogging is a powerful one, in large part because it can be fearless. If you begin second-guessing your content, watering it down for a broader audience, personal blogging will lose some of its influence.
Write for yourself and your current audience first. Then, just as with the best wine, give that post time to breathe before sharing it with us. We find that the true test of the most powerful content is a little time.

What do you get out of Blog Nosh Magazine promoting your old posts?
You get free publicity for your blog and your writing. So many of us are writing magazine-quality content on our personal blogs, only to have those posts buried far beyond our front page days later. Blog Nosh Magazine provides a way for those timelessly brilliant posts to bask in the spotlight a bit longer.
Unfortunately, we can not pay you for your posts.
Them’s the breaks, right?
What we can offer you, though, in addition to free publicity, another feather in your blogging-resume-cap, new readers & subscribers, and new fans all around, is…
This shiny new blog button!
Ooh, look at it shimmer and shine! Your readers will want to reach out and just nosh on its deliciousness!
Post it in your sidebar! Include it in your bragging-rights post when you share with your readers how you are loved by and published on Blog Nosh Magazine! It’s all yours to do with however you please!
Once your post has been republished on Blog Nosh Magazine, the code for your button will be emailed to you so that you can point your readers directly to your moment in the spotlight.
Not receive your code? eMail Megan.

What do I do now?
If you have been contacted by a Channel Editor, reply to their email with the requested information and give them the go-ahead to move forward with promoting your post on Blog Nosh Magazine.
If you would like to submit a post yourself, use our simple submission form or email one of our Channel Editors.
The fastest and most effective way to get your post noticed is to use our Submission form. If you email it to Megan (the publisher), it is more likely to get lost in the shuffle…
Keep in mind that we receive dozens of submissions every week. If you have several posts you would like to submit, try to narrow it down to one or two, then submit more after one of yours makes it onto the magazine. Submitting multiple posts actually dilutes our attention rather than increasing your odds of being spotlighted.
We publish 2 posts per day (excluding weekends), so it may take some time for your post to appear. Or it may show up the next day. We’re crazy like that.
Needless to say, we can not accept all submissions. However…
We are always looking for fresh voices and delicious content, so take the leap and submit your best to Blog Nosh Magazine for promotion!
