Nosh Notes: New Tastes, NoshTube, and You!
The cherry on top of our first full week of new posts at the revamped Blog Nosh Magazine was a bit of a sour one, as a few technical snafus prevented us from posting Nosh Notes on Friday.
Therefore, let’s double our desserts and highlight some of the posts we featured last week, as well as introduce you to our new NoshTube Channel Editor!
We celebrated our first week in our new home with the launch of our Fiction & Poetry channel, featuring a short story by The View from Here. The response was better than we expected, so spread the word to your writer friends that we are open to submissions of short stories, poetry, and posts about the craft of writing.
Another new angle we are exploring here is encouraging our editors to share posts with which they may not agree, but that they feel make intriguing arguments and are worth further discussion. It is important to note, if you have not already, that the posts we republish at Blog Nosh Magazine do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the editors that select them nor the publisher, however we feel that lends our content selection all the more depth. We are open to considering differing opinions and we hope you will be, too.
The perfect jump into the deep end for this approach was a political post from Dr. Laura on Sarah Palin and motherhood. Dr. Laura is definitely a “love her or hate her” personality, and one that certainly didn’t need any publicity from our magazine, however we were able to offer you something you don’t usually have the opportunity to do: comment back. Dr. Laura’s blog does not allow comments, but we do, so it was interesting to see our audience share their thoughts in an open forum.
Last week, we covered everything from interior design with a foreign flair to an exploration of what parents of children with special needs owe to the public in terms of explanations for unexpected behavior. We were all over the map, which is quite our style.
Speaking of all over the map (wink wink), now is the perfect time to introduce you to our new NoshTube Channel Editor, The Bloggess!
First, a little about our YouTube Channel, also known as NoshTube, a simple new feature guided by you and your tastes: When you find a YouTube video you’d like to share with us, you can either email us the link or (even easier) share it with us directly from YouTube.
From the video you’d like to share, simply click “send video” under the “Share” tab directly below the video you are watching, send it to username “blognoshmag” and you are done!
If your video is featured, we’ll be sure to give you credit for the find in our weekly Nosh Notes, so be sure to leave your blog URL or YouTube username in the message and share your nosh!
And when you aren’t filling NoshTube with your own selections,
they’ll be coming straight from the wicked sense of humor of Jenny, The Bloggess. Jenny is perfect for NoshTube, as those of you that follow her on twitter already know, and I think you’ll be thoroughly entertained by her choices. Often off the wall, frequently irreverent, and never dull, The Bloggess will keep you coming back for more satisfying diversions, even when you aren’t in the mood to (gasp!) read blogs– just check our NoshTube feature in the upper right hand sidebar each day for fresh video fare.
Last week’s video fare? Found largely by you, right out of the buffet line!
Facebook in Real Life from Absolutely Bananas
Twitter in Plain English from Chrysalis
Hitchcock’s Ninja Cat from The Bloggess
The rest were random finds by me, so be sure to check out our YouTube profile to keep up with our favorites, so far.
Enough about us, it’s time to get back to the nosh! First up this week? The Bloggess, of course! Rarely for the faint of heart, do enjoy…

Jenny is the Dolly Llama of fantastic stuff all over the web. I always click on her “tinyurls” on Twitter even if they risk me getting a note from the tech gestapo at work. She’ll be an awesome editress. I can’t wait to drink the Koolaid she pours into the Nosh Tube. Um, yeah. Welcome Jenny!
